Kickstarter Android app

It’s been a long time coming but you can finally download the official Kickstarter Android app.

Unlike a lot of websites that work fine in a regular mobile web browser, Kickstarter via an app is a much smoother and more pleasurable experience, and now Android users can join the party! Version 1.0 of the Kickstarter Android app is available from today via the Google Play Store, following on the heels of the iOS app after an inexplicable wait of 3 years.

Given that Kickstarter expanded into eight new European countries in 2015 (bringing the total to 18) and that the Android platform has millions of users in Europe, this could mean that Kickstarter will see a greater influx of new backers in 2016. It’s no secret that tabletop gaming is one of the most popular categories on Kickstarter, so today’s release of the Android app is no small thing for our industry.

Android users can now back huge tabletop game Kickstarter campaigns while waiting for a bus!

Are you an Android user? Do you think a dedicated app makes it more likely for you to back boardgames on Kickstarter?
